Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) shot even par and classmate Antonio Lopez-Woodworth (Mexico City, Mexico) finished 1-over par to help lead the Post University men's golf team to a fourth place finish at the Penmen Fall Invitational at Hanover Country Club.
After a school record setting even par round of 276 on Monday, the Eagles shot a 14-over par 290 to finish the tournament at 14-over par (566). Southern New Hampshire took home the team title with a 3-over par 555 (277-278).
Erickson followed up his 68 on Monday with a 70 on Tuesday, tying him for fourth place. Lopez-Woodworth shot a 72 after shooting a 67 in the first round.
Senior
Kyle Hughes (Pulaski, N.Y.) finished tied for 25
th after shooting a 6-over par 144 (70-74). Classmate
Brendan McCormack (Watertown, Conn.) was tied for 34
th with an 8-over par 146. A 9-over par finish for sophomore
Anthony Guerrera (Watertown, Conn.) placed him tied for 37
th.
Lopez-Woodworth shot the best on par 3s for the tournament, averaging 2.63 strokes. Erickson was tied for the most birdies in the tournament with eight. Lopez-Woodworth had eight and Guerrera had five.
Matt Paradis of Southern New Hampshire was the individual medalist for the tournament, finishing 3-under par (68-67), defeating Michael Miranda of St. Thomas Aquinas and Tommy Ethier of Bentley by two strokes.
Up next for the Eagles is the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Oct. 1-2 at Back Creek Golf Club in Middletown, Del.
