Hughes Leads Eagles To Sixth Place Finish
Keene, N.H. – Senior
Kyle Hughes (Pulaski, N.Y.) shot a final round 77 to help lead the Post University men's golf team to a sixth place finish at the Franklin Pierce University Invitational at Keene Country Club.
The Eagles finished with a 630 (315-315). Southern New Hampshire won the team title with a 594, followed by Franklin Pierce (598).
Hughes finished 15
th overall, shooting a 79 in the first round as he was 12-over par (156) for the two day tournament.
Junior
Matthieu Sicard (Marseille, France) finished right behind Hughes, as he carded a 79 on the final round to finish one stroke behind Hughes in a tie for 17
th.
Senior
Brendan McCormack (Watertown, Conn.) and sophomore
Anthony Guerrera (Watertown, Conn.) both tied for 24
th with a 15-over par 159. Junior
Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) was tied for 36
th with a 19-over par 163.
Sam Riemer of Southern New Hampshire was the medalist, shooting an even par 144 (72-72).
Up next for the Eagles is the Penmen Fall Invitational in Hanover, N.H. on September 18-19.
