Watertown, Conn. - Junior
Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) shot a 1-under par 70 in the first round as the Post University men's golf team is tied for the lead in the Post Eagles Invitational at Watertown Golf Club. The team's 13-over par 297 tied them with Southern New Hampshire.
Erickson is one stroke ahead of Hamish Houston of St. Thomas Aquinas.Â
Also sitting in the top ten for the Eagles is sophomore
Anthony Guerrera (Watertown, Conn.), who is tied for seventh after his first round 4-over par 75. Three Eagles are tied for 11th place after shooting an opening round 76, as freshman
Simen Midbruket (Moss, Norway), senior
Kyle Hughes (Pulaski, N.Y.) and junior
Matthieu Sicard (Marseille, France) are all 5-over par.

Brendan McCormack (Watertown, Conn.) shot a 77, putting him tied for 16th. Junior
Antonio Lopez-Woodworth (Mexico City, Mexico) shot a 7-over par 78, putting him in a tie for 20th. Classmate
Ben McKenna (Torrington, Conn.) shot an 11-over par 82, while senior
John Gibbons (Rothesay, New Brunswick) is two strokes behind McKenna.
Erickson led all players in the round with five. He also was second in par 4 scoring at even par. McCormack was tied for second in par 5 scoring at 3-under par while also carding an eagle on the round. Gibbons also had an eagle on the day. There were six eagles total in the round.
Round two begins tomorrow with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
