Guilderland, N.Y. - Led by sophomore
Anthony Guerrera (Watertown, Conn.), the Post University men's golf team finished in fifth place at the Saint Rose Fall Shootout at Pinehaven Country Club on Saturday.
Post's 43-over par 611 (308-303) edged out Bentley by three strokes for the fifth spot. Franklin Pierce won the tournament with a 20-over par 588 (291-297).
Guerrera finished with a 7-over par 149 to tie for ninth place individually. He shot a 73 in the second round after shooting a 76 in the first round.
A 10-over par 152 placed junior
Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) in a tie for 14th place. Senior
Kyle Hughes (Pulaski, N.Y.) finished with a 14-over par 156 (79-77), tying him for 25th. Junior
Matthieu Sicard (Marseille, France) finished tie for third with a 15-over par 157 (78-79). Senior
Brendan McCormack (Watertown, Conn.) finished in 37th with a 17-over par 159 (83-76).
Sam Meyers of Franklin Pierce was the medalist with a 2-over par 144 (70-74), finishing a stroke better than teammate Keeton Foster and Jake Eno and Jonathan Petrin of LeMoyne.
Up next for the Eagles is the Post Eagles Invitational at Watertown Golf Club on Oct. 9-10.
