Middletown, De.– Junior
Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) shot a second round 71 and finished 7-over par overall to lead the Post University men's golf team to a fourth place finish at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship at Black Creek Golf Course.
As a team, the Eagles shot a 55-over par 623 (307-316), finishing 11 strokes behind third place Dominican. Wilmington, the host of the tournament, won with an 18-over par 586 (287-299). Concordia finished second with a 38-over par 606 (305-301).
Erickson shot seven strokes better than he did in the first round, leading him to his seventh place finish.
Senior
Kyle Hughes (Pulaski, N.Y.) and senior
Brendan McCormack (Watertown, Conn.) also finished in the top-20 for the Eagles. Hughes posted a 13-over par 155 (74-81), tying him for 11
th place, while McCormack tied for 18
th with a 16-over par 158 (75-83).
Sophomore
Anthony Guerrera (Watertown, Conn.) finished tied for 23
rd with a 19-over par 161 (80-81) and junior Antonio Lopez-Woodworth (Mexico City, Mexico) shot a 25-over par 167 (83-84).
Evan Hong of Concordia was the individual medalist, shooting a 2-over par 144 (71-73), edging out Wilmington's Enrique Valverde by a stroke.
Erickson finished the tournament tied for second in par 3 scoring at even par, and tied for fourth in birdies with five.
Up next for the Eagles is the Saint Rose Fall Shootout on Oct. 6-7 in Guilderland, N.Y.
