Cicero, N.Y. – Senior Kyle Hughes (Pulaski, N.Y.) shot a second round 2-under par 71 as the Post University men's golf team finished eighth at the LeMoyne Fall Invitational at Lake Shore Yacht & Country Club, the final tournament in the Fall season for Post.
Entering the round tied for ninth, the Eagles improved 18 strokes from their first round to final round to finish with a 22-over par 598 (308-290). Laval won the tournament with a 6-under par 570 (294-276), edging out Rollins by three strokes.
Hughes finished tied for 14
th, with a 2-over par 146 (75-71). He was one of two Eagles to finish in the top 20 as junior
Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) finished with a 3-over par 147 (76-71).
Matt Paradis of Southern New Hampshire was the individual medalist with a 7-under par 137 (67-70).
Sophomore
Anthony Guerrera (Watertown, Conn.), with a 7-over par 151 (78-73) put him tied for 32
nd. Junior
Ben McKenna (Torrington, Conn.) shot a 10-over par 154, improving by six strokes from the first round. He shot a 74 in the final round after a first round 80. Freshman
Simen Midtbruket (Moss, Norway) shot a 75 after a first round 80 to finish 11-over par. Senior
Brendan McCormack (Watertown, Conn.) finished a shot behind Midtbruket with a 12-over par 156 (79-77). Junior
Antonio Lopez-Woodworth (Mexico City, Mexico) shot a 16-over par 160 (81-79).
Hughes was tied for the lowest scoring on par fours for the tournament, shooting 2-under par. Hughes was also tied for fourth in birdies along with Erickson with eight. McCormack had seven.
