MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's tennis team improved to 3-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Saturday with an 8-1 victory over Holy Family at Edgewood Bath & Tennis.
Post swept all three doubles matches to open the day. Juniors
Liza Dubrovskaya (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) and
Brianna Miah (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) defeated Anastasiya Kolodiy and Sophie Beck 8-5 in No. 1 doubles.
Sophomore
Madison Young (Wellington, New Zealand) and senior
Natasha Siku (Gaborone, Botswana) grabbed an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Sophomores
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) and
Sarah Namazi (Waterbury, Conn.) made quick work of Latifah Hinawy and Meghan Moyer 8-1.
Namazi continued to roll in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Moyer for her team-leading sixth victory of the season. Dubrovskaya took down Kolodiy 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1. At No. 3, Miah defeated Emerald Adams 6-1, 7-5. Siku won her third-straight singles match 6-1, 6-2 over Christina Little. Bergen picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win over Hinawy.
The Eagles look to win their opening four CACC matches for the first time ever on Sunday at home against Philadelphia. First serve is schedule for 1 p.m.
