WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Post University women's tennis team won its second straight match on Thursday with a 9-0 victory over New Haven. The Eagles improve to 4-2 overall on the season.
Juniors
Liza Dubrovskaya (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) and
Brianna Miah (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) defeated Angela Mercurio and Caitlyn Burridge 8-0 in No. 1 doubles. Sophomore
Madison Young (Wellington, New Zealand) and senior
Natasha Siku (Gaborone, Botswana) grabbed an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Sophomores
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) and
Sarah Namazi (Waterbury, Conn.) also won their doubles match 8-4.
The Eagles dropped just five singles games total as they swept the Chargers. Young, Miah, and Siku all took their matches 6-0, 6-0. Namazi improved to 5-1 in singles this year with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Mercurio in No. 6 singles.
Post is back in action at home on Saturday afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match against Holy Family. First serve at Edgewood Bath & Tennis at set for 1 p.m.
