Middletown, De. – Carlos Fernandez-Herzog (Madrid, Spain) finished tied for fifth place with an 11-over par 153 (75-78) as he led the Post University golf team to a fourth place finish at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championships on Wednesday at Back Creek Golf Course.
The team finished with a 73-over par 639 (319-320) finishing three strokes behind Nyack for third place. Wilmington won the title with a 31-over par 599 (302-299) and Felician was second with a 58-over par 626 (311-315).
Michael Erickson finished tied for 14
th with a 17-over par 159 (77-82).
Matthieu Sicard's 77 was nine strokes better than his first round and he finished tied for 25
th with a 21-over par 163.
Kyle Hughes shot a 22-over par 164 (81-83) and
Tim Tian shot a 33-over par 175 (87-88).
By finishing in the top five, Fernandez-Herzog was named to the All-Tournament team.
Andrew Geesey of Felician won the individual title with a 3-over par 145 (73-72), finishing one stroke ahead of Wilmington's Ryan Rucinski.
Selections for the NCAA East Regional will be announced on Friday at 6 p.m. The top 10 qualify for the field. The Eagles are currently eighth.
