SHOREHAM, N.Y. – The Post University men's golf team finished fifth at the Dowling September Shootout held this weekend at Tall Grass Golf Course in Shoreham, N.Y. The Eagles shot a team score of 593 (301-292) at the tournament.
Freshman
Jose Luis Martinez (Mexico City, Mexico) shot a seven-under 65 in the final round and finished tied for ninth at 145 (80-65). His second round score was the lowest 18-hole round by an Eagle since 2004.
Sophomore
Kyle Hughes (Pulaski, N.Y.) and freshman
Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) both tied for 16
th with two-day scores of 149. Each shot a 73 in the first round and 76 in the second.
Sophomore
Carlos Fernandez-Herzog (Madrid, Spain) carded a two-day score of 151 (75-76) to finish in a tie for 23
rd.
Post shot a 292 in the final round, the team's lowest 18-hole score since 2012.
The Eagles return to action on Friday at the Quechee DII Challenge hosted by Southern New Hampshire at The Quechee Club in Quechee, Vt.
