MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's tennis defeated Goldey-Beacom 5-4 on Friday afternoon at home to earn its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win. The Eagles are now 1-1 and 1-0 in CACC on the young season.
Post held a 2-1 lead after doubles. The team of junior
Diana Perez (Miami, Fla.) and sophomore Briana Miah (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) earned a victory in second doubles over Pauline Rozet and Francesca Beg, 8-5. The Lightning played with just five players so the Eagles earned a doubles point by default.
Perez made quick work of Beg in top singles 6-2, 6-0 to leave the Eagles just one win from victory. Sophomore
Liza Dubrovskaya (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) defeated Rozet 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the match.
Post is back at Edgewood Bath and Tennis, Wednesday against Saint Joseph. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
