Preview: Eagles Look To Come Closer To Locking Down CACC Playoff Spot

Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University Eagles women's basketball team looks to stop a four-game losing streak and put a stranglehold on the final playoff spot in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division as it takes on Nyack on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Drubner Center.

The Eagles are 5-16 overall and 5-7 in the CACC. They are in fourth place in the North Division, a game and a half ahead of Concordia for the final CACC tournament spot.

Post is coming off of an 83-50 loss at Goldey-Beacom on Saturday. In that game, freshman Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds and freshman Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) scored 10 points. The Eagles fell behind 43-20 at halftime and were unable to mount a comeback in the second half.

Top Ten
Junior Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) is tied for tenth in scoring in the CACC at 14.0 points per game. She is also fourth in the CACC in free-throws made with 79. She is seventh in total field goals made with 106. Defensively she is fifth in steals with 42.

Childs-Harris is second in free-throws made with 86 and seventh in steals with 39.

About Nyack
Nyack comes into the game at 2-17 overall and 2-11 in the CACC and is in last place in the CACC North Division, coming off of a close 69-66 loss at Georgian Court on Jan. 31.

The Warriors are led by Jamie McKeither who averages 13.6 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game, both which are tops on the team. Ravens Makins is second on the team in scoring at 10.5 points per game.

Head-To-Head
The two teams met on Jan. 17 and the Eagles won, 76-73 in an overtime thriller. The Eagles jumped out to an early 20-0 lead, and the Warriors made a large comeback in the final minutes to send the game into overtime. Sheloski scored 20 points to lead the Eagles. Acklin scored 17 and sophomore Jessica Ayala (Middletown, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 10 points.
