WATERBURY, Conn. – Sophomore guard
Jasmine Day-Cox scored a team-high 15 points on 5-for-10 shooting for Post University Women's Basketball as the Eagles have officially climbed back to .500 for the first time this season with a 63-50 victory over Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday afternoon for Senior Day in the Drubner Center.
The win for Post moves them to .500 overall for the first time this season as well as .500 in conference play, while locking up a spot in the CACC Tournament, currently sitting in the sixth spot after the victory today with two games left in the regular season on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Day-Cox took over in the first half for the Eagles, scoring a team-high nine points, going 4-for-7 from the floor, and hitting her only free throw in her 15 minutes of action. The sophomore had all nine of her points in the second quarter alone, including an emphatic three-point play with Post trailing by four, making it a 20-19 game on her solo 5-0 run midway through that frame.
The Eagles trailed after the first quarter by six points, 16-10, as an early three-point lead, 10-7, with 5:00 to go, turned into a 9-0 run by Goldey-Beacom, capped off by a three from senior guard Rory Ciskowski. The next time Post would jump back in front came after Day-Cox's layup with 4:28 remaining in the half, which began an 8-0 run to end the half for the Eagles, as sophomore guard
Kamryn Porter scored four consecutive points and sophomore forward
McKensi Forde capped things off with a layup.
Forde finished the first half with six points, going a perfect 3-for-3 from the field, while Porter had all four of her points from the free throw line. The Eagles shot 10-for-26 (38.8%) from the floor, but missed all six of their three-point attempts. Goldey-Beacom's 10-for-33 (30.3%) shooting effort in the first half saw them connect on only 3-of-18 (16.7%) threes, led by Ciszkowski's six points and two shots from long range. Freshman forward Eva Walker also closed with six points in 12 minutes, making 3-of-4 shots from the floor.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Three players finished in double figures for Post University with Jasmine Day-Cox leading the way with 15 points followed by both McKensi Forde and Alyssa Rossignol with 10 points each
