Win Would Get Eagles Closer To CACC Tournament Spot

Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's basketball team will take on Dominican College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road test on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

The Eagles are coming off of a 107-61 home loss to Caldwell on Tuesday. That loss put the Eagles at 5-19 overall and 5-10 in the CACC. They are currently in fourth place in the North Division, which is the final spot for the CACC tournament.

During the loss to the Cougars, junior Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) led the way with 15 points. Freshman Lexus Childs-Harris had 11 points and nine rebounds.

Top Ten List

Acklin has been a force on the defensive end this year, as she has 49 steals on the season, which is fifth in the CACC. She's also been able to get to the free-throw line at will, and has made 85 of her free-throws this year, which is eighth in the conference. On the boards, she is eighth in offensive rebounds with 63. Childs-Harris has also moved her way up in some key statistical categories. She is currently third in free-throws made with 92 and eighth in steals with 43.

Charging Ahead

The Dominican Chargers are 10-13 overall and 8-6 in the CACC. They are sitting in third place in the North Division. Lashonda Hathorne is second on the team with 11.6 points per game and Shannon McGill averages 11.2 points per game. The Chargers have struggled of late, losing two of their last three games, including a 79-64 loss at Wilmington on Feb. 7.
