PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Post University women's tennis team defeated Holy Family 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in its final regular season match. The Eagles are 11-4 overall and 5-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play heading into their first-ever appearance in the conference tournament.
The Eagles swept doubles play with freshman
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) and junior
Natasha Siku (Gaborone, Botswana) earning an 8-1 victory over Jacqyeline Clyne and Alexis Daubert in third doubles. The duo compiled a 10-3 record this season, best among the Eagles' doubles teams.
Post made quick work of the Tigers in singles play. Junior
Diana Perez (Miami, Fla.) defeated Anastasiya Kolodiy 6-0, 6-3 in the top spot. Sophomore
Liza Dubrovskaya (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) took down Emerald Adams, 6-0, 6-4. Dubrovskaya won a team-record 14 singles matches this season, finishing at 14-2 as Perez lost just once.
The Eagles will be the third seed in the CACC Tournament which begins Saturday, Oct. 24 at Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia. Post will play the second-seeded Griffins with the winner advancing the championship on Sunday. Top-seeded Concordia and #4 Goldey-Beacom will meet in the other semifinal.
