LAKEVIEW, N.Y. – The Post University women's tennis team continued its historic season on Wednesday with an 8-1 victory over Molloy. The Eagles are now 10-3 on the year with just two matches remaining until the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament.
Sophomores
Liza Dubrovskaya (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) and
Brianna Miah (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) earned an 8-3 win in top doubles over Tatiana Rajaona and Megan Scali. Freshman
Jessica Bergen (Bethel, Conn.) and junior
Natasha Siku (Gaborone, Botswana) won 8-0 in the second doubles over Emily Rosen and Christie Catterson. The Eagles took the third doubles match by forfeit.
Post took five out of six singles matches led by freshman
Sarah Namazi (Waterbury, Conn.) who took down Scali 6-0, 6-1 in the second spot. Begen defeated Rosen 6-2, 6-3 and Siku beat Catterson 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Juliana Frenette (Woodbury, Conn.) defeated Krystal Bottone 6-2, 6-3 in the fifth singles.
The Eagles visit Chestnut Hill on Friday at 3 p.m. Post has already clinched its first-ever CACC Tournament appearance and with a win over the Griffins will also clinch the second seed.
