WATERBURY, Conn.- The Post University women's volleyball team will head south the weekend for a four game trip in Boca Raton, Fla. at the Courtyard By Marriott Invitational. Post opens the tournament on Friday, Sept. 12 with two games; first at 1 p.m. facing off against Fort Valley State and the next at 7 p.m. against Lynn. On Saturday, Sept. 13, the Eagles will play Clark Atlanta at 11 a.m. and finish the tournament against Puerto Rico- Mayaguez at 5 p.m.

Post last traveled to Boca Raton, Fla. to play a four game tournament in 2011. Fort Valley, Clark Atlanta, and Puerto Rico- Mayaguez are all first time opponents.

All-Time Series Vs. LynnThe only scouting report Coach Brienza has against the opponents Post will be seeing in the tournament is one from 2011 when his Eagles made the trip to Boca Raton and lost 3-0 to the Fighting Knights.

LynnThe Fighting Knights look to make a statement as Lynn hosts this year's tournament on its home court. They enter the tournament 1-1 on the season. Lynn is projected to finish sixth in the Sunshine State Conference. The team returns senior libero Niki Hablen, who averaged 4.67 digs per set a season ago. Sophomore Marissa Tandron will set the pace on offense, coming off a 1,136 assist season with 12 double-doubles.

Fort Valley State The Lady Wildcats totaled a 10-24 record in the 2013 season and were picked to finish 12
th out of 13 member teams in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season. The Lady Wildcats will be coming off of a three game skid entering this weekend's tournament. Fort Valley will return senior Briana Shepherd, an offensive threat, who led the team in kills last season with 236.

Clark AtlantaThe Panthers went 18-10 last season. Clark Atlanta is projected to finish ninth in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season. They are coming off of three straight losses as they enter the tournament this weekend. Clark Atlanta made a run to the conference semi-finals last season, with nine players returning for the 2014 campaign.

Skylar German was named CACC Player of the Week on Sept. 9. She became the first Eagle to earn the honor since 2007. During the week German led the squad with a .404 hitting percentage, 27 kills, and eight blocks.

Approaching MilestonesJulia Slyaktina enters the weekend with 1,724 assists in her career, good for fourth all-time. She is just one of four players to record over 1,000 career assists and just 619 assists away from Desere Obregon for third place all-time. The senior recorded 753 assists a year ago.
Emily Wilman could become just the third player to join the 1,000 kill-1,000 dig club this season. She sits 204 kills and 122 digs away from the milestone.

Preseason PrognosticationsThe Post volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the CACC North Division in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles earned 47 points, just two behind fourth-place Bloomfield. Caldwell and Wilmington were picked atop the North and South Divisions, respectively.

On The HorizonThe Boca Raton Courtyard by Marriott Invitational will be the final tune-up for Post as it enters conference play next week. The Eagles visit Bloomfield on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. The Eagles host Nyack in their home opener at the Drubner Center on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.Â
