Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's basketball team will look to snap its two-game losing streak as it takes on defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion, Bloomfield in a home game on Wednesday at the Drubner Center.
In their last game, the Eagles dropped a non-conference game to Southern Connecticut, 100-77 on December 14. Junior Deaisia Acklin (Bronx, N.Y.) led the four Eagles in double figure scoring with 20 points. Freshman Lexus Childs-Harris (New London, Conn.) scored 16, senior Jacquelynne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) scored 15 and sophomore Nicole Sheloski (Hudson Falls, N.Y.) had 11.
It was the second straight loss for the Eagles, who are 3-5 overall and 3-0 in the CACC, putting them in second place in the North Division.
Top Performers
Childs-Harris is eighth in the CACC in scoring at 14.0 points per game. Pugh is tied for first in three-point percentage at 50.0 percent.
The Eagles are fourth in the CACC in points per game at 70 points per game and lead the conference in steals at 12.2 per game.
Bearing Down
The Bloomfield Bears are the defending CACC champions and preseason favorite to repeat. They are 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the CACC North Division.
In their most recent game, they eeked out a 68-66 victory over Dominican on December 13. Morgan Taylor scored 20 points for the Bears in the win and Iman Williams scored 12.
De'Andra Humphries leads the Bears in scoring at 13.8 points per game. Tierra Scott is the top rebounder on the team and seventh in the CACC at 8.1 rebounds per game.
