Eagles 16th After Round One Of NCAA Atlantic/East Regional

Rees Tied For Sixth After Carding Opening-Round 75

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Post University golf team sits in 16th after Monday's first round of the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional at the Jones Course at Ogelbay Resort in Wheeling, W.Va. Post shot a team total of 323 on day one.
 
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year, senior Thomas Rees (Cardiff, Wales) is tied for sixth after an opening-round 75. Rees led the field with four birdies on the day and pared his final three holes. Junior Ross Earnshaw (York, England) is tied for 51st after carding an 80 on Monday.
 
Sophomore Anthony McNamara (Beacon Falls, Conn.) and freshman Nick Daven (Woodbury, Conn.) both shot 84 and are tied for 85th. Freshman Patrick Hartnett (Chicago, Ill.) carded an 88 on day one.
 
CACC Champion, Wilmington, shot a 298 and holds a 10-stroke advantage. Indiana (Pa.) and the University of Charleston are tied for second at 308 after round one. The top three teams after 54-holes will advance to the NCAA Championship. Andrew Baldo of Wilmington and Jamin Smith of Charleston are tied for first at 72.
 
The Eagles tee-off the second round from the 10th tee tomorrow morning beginning at 7:30 a.m.
