Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Eagles with a career-high 23 points.
Chance reached the milestone on 10-for-15 shooting. She also added six rebounds and two blocks. Junior
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) was 3-of-4 from behind the arc for 18 points and six boards. Freshman
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) added 11 points off the bench. Junior
Fernanda Mansilla (Ancud, Chile) dished out nine assists.
Post (10-13, 8-8 CACC) fell behind 14-4 early as Dominican made four of its first five shots, including two from distance. Griffin nailed back-to-back three-pointers to tie the game up 16-16 at the 10:45 mark of the first. She hit another from long range minutes later to cap a 19-4 run and give Post a 23-18 advantage with 7:20 remaining.
Dominican (15-7, 12-3 CACC) answered back with two threes of its own to tie the game 25-25 with just under five minutes left in the period. Chance scored seven points over the final 5:42 as the Eagles led by as many as six and took a 37-33 advantage into the intermission.
Chance continued her scoring outburst to begin the second half with two shots that put the Eagles ahead 43-36 at 17:54. Latham capped a 9-0 run with two from behind the arc to Post its largest lead of the night at 52-39 with 15:36 remaining.
The Chargers slowly chipped away at the deficit as Bianca Harris scored six points to close the gap to 54-48 at the 13:57 mark. Lindsey Lopez nailed two from long range to tie the game at 62-62 with 7:00 left.
Lopez hit her sixth three-pointer of the game at 3:15 to give Dominican a 73-71 advantage. Chance made a jumper on the Eagles next possession to know the score 73-73 with 2:59 remaining. Post was held scoreless for the remainder of the game as the Chargers scored eight straight points for the comeback victory.
Post shot at a 45.9 percent clip on for the night, its second-best performance of the season. The Eagles held a slim 38-37 advantage on the boards. Dominican was 13-for-32 from long range. Lopez hit seven shots from distance on her way to a game-high 24 points.
The Eagles hit the hardwood again on Saturday, Feb. 9 against CACC South opponent USciences. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
