Golf Sits In 13th After First Round Of Irish Creek Intercollegiate

Earnshaw Shoots Opening-Round 78 To Lead Eagles

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Post University golf team hit the links for the first time this spring at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate at the The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, N.C. on Monday. The Eagles sit in 13th after 18-holes after shooting an opening-round 328.
 
Junior Ross Earnshaw (York, England) carded a 78 on Monday and sits in a tie for 32nd. Senior Thomas Rees (Cardiff, Wales) is tied for 44th after shooting 79. Sophomore Anthony McNamara (Beacon Falls, Conn.) scored an 85 on his first 18-holes of the season and is tied for 70th.
 
Freshman Patrick Hartnett (Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Jay Gerrick (London, England) carded 86 and 88, respectively.
 
Belmont Abbey is the overall leader after round one with a 293. Kim Koivu of Brevard College shot a three-under 68 and is in first individually.
 
Post will be back in action tomorrow for the final round of the tournament.
