WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post women's basketball season will tipoff on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the University of Bridgeport tournament as the Eagles and head coach Stephen Schuler look to improve on their 2012-2013 campaign where they finished 11-16 overall and 9-10 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). The Eagles made their first appearance in the CACC Tournament since 2007.

The Eagles return the school's third all-time leading scorer in senior captain Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) who currently has 1,194 points in her time at Post. Last season, Latham – who averaged 17.3 points per game last season - was named to the All-CACC second team and All-ECAC first team.

Co-captain Jacquelynne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) comes into her junior season having averaged 6.3 points per game last season and scored in double-digits five times last season, including a season-high 16 against USciences on February 21, 2013. Pugh was also named to the CACC All-Academic team along with teammate Raven Wright-James (Middletown, Conn.)

Schuler adds 10 newcomers for this season, including Liz Falcigno (Middletown, Conn.) who was named New Haven Tap-Off Club All-Area last year, and Dericka Sims (Chesapeake, Va.) who led her team in double-double for two years and was All-District in 2013.

In the team's first game, The Eagles take on Molloy at the University of Bridgeport tournament at 2 p.m. The team will play the host of the tournament the following day at 6 p.m.

POST IN SEASON OPENERS
The Eagles have not fared well in season-openers since they joined NCAA Division II in 2002.  During that time they are just 2-8 to begin the year. The last time Post won its opener was in 2011-12 as the Eagles defeated Queens 93-48.

WHEN THEY LAST MET
The last time Post and Molloy met, the Eagles pulled away with a thrilling 73-72 victory as Monique Chance hit a jumper with 3.1 seconds left to give Post the win. It was the first win over Molloy in school history. Molloy won the first two meetings, 82-71 in 2011 and 81-78 in 2006.

LOOKING FOR NO. 1
The Eagles haven't been as lucky against Bridgeport, having lost each of the first seven meetings between the two teams, including last season's 66-62 loss. It was the closest the Eagles have come to beating the Purple Knights.

APPROACHING THE TOP
Senior Aubrey Latham is closing in on becoming the Eagles' all-time leading scorer. She currently has 1,194 points in her career, 316 behind career-leader Tracey Garofalo who is at 1,510 and 127 away from second-place Tadj Williams.
All-Time Career Scoring Leaders
1. Tracey Garofolo (1998-2002) – 1,510
2. Tadj Williams (2003-06) – 1,321
3. Aubrey Latham (2009-) – 1,194
4. Melissa Czeremcha (2000-04) – 1,117
5. Lisa Benettieri (1991-95) – 1,071

Caldwell garnered 98 points and all 14 first place votes and was selected as the North Division favorite.
