WATERBURY, Conn.. - After a dominating first half, the Post University women's basketball team was able to take care of business against the Nyack Warriors, 93-82 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup at the Drubner Center, thanks to another dominating performance by senior
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) who finished with 30 points.

The Eagles would jump out to a 20-5 run to begin the game before Nyack knew what hit them, and never trailed throughout the game.Â

In the first half, Latham, junior
Jacquelynne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) and senior
Raven Wright-James (Middletown, Conn.) combined for 34 points on 14-for-20 shooting to set the offensive tone for the Eagles. Overall, the team would shoot an unheard of 62.5 percent from the field in the first half.

Post would go into the break with a dominating 50-27 lead. They held the Warriors (1-5, 0-2 CACC) to 30.3 percent shooting in the first half, stifling Audrey Matteson and Mariah Brown to 4-for-15 shooting.

Throughout the first 13 minutes of the second half, the Eagles were able to hold off any potential run the Warriors tried to make, keeping them at bay with anywhere between a 15-22 point deficit. Nyack would go closed out on a 17-8 run with to cut the deficit to eight points at 83-75 with 3:53 left in the game. However, the Eagles (2-3, 2-0 CACC) would close out on a 10-7 run to end the game.

Overall, Post finished the game shooting 54 percent from the field. Wright-James and freshman
Liz Falcigno (Middletown, Conn.) finished with a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and 12 points and 10 rebounds, respectively. Sophomore
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) would finish with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting.

Latham's 30 points vaulted her into second-place all-time on the school's leading scorer list. She now has 1,326 points in her career and trails Tracey Garofolo whose 1,510 points leads the school all-time.
