Box Score
The Post Eagles women's soccer team ended its regular season with its best offensive output of the season, routing Concordia, N.Y., 6-0 in Bronxville, N.Y. It was the most goals in a game for the Eagles since September 25, 2012 when they scored six goals, also against Concordia (0-11-0, 0-11-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference).
It took a while to get the scoring going, but once the goals started, there was no end in sight.
In the 41st minute,
Tessa Dunster (Stamford, Conn.), who led the CACC with nine goals heading into the game, added on to her conference lead as she dribbled up the left side and put a shot low, past goalkeeper, Jennifer Forlini.
Dunster would add her 11th goal of the season two minutes later doing the same thing, - dribbling up the left side - and put a shot off the left post and in.
The game would go into halftime with the Eagles up 2-0.Â
Not long after halftime ended,
Lexxi Carroll (Plainville, Conn.) took advantage of a turnover on defense in the 55th minute, and just like Dunster, put it past Forlini on the left side. The goal was Carroll's fifth of the season, and put the game out of reach at 3-0. However, the Eagles weren't done, yet.
Valerie Moore (Bloomfield, Conn.) got into the action in the 64th minute after taking a cross from Dunster on the right side and put the ball past Forlini for her fifth goal of the season.
In the 82nd minute, the defense got in on the offensive show, as
Kelly Markure (Naugatuck, Conn.) took a pass from Carroll in the box and put it over the head of Forlini, making it 5-0.
Carroll concluded the scoring on the day in the 85th minute, after she headed a corner from Dunster into the net for her sixth goal of the season.
Grace McConnell (Leeds, England) finished the game with four saves and a 6-5 record on the year.
The Eagles finished their season at 7-9 and 5-7 in the CACC, falling just short of a CACC berth with 15 points.Â
