Dunster Scores Ninth Goal Of The Season

Box Score

RUTHERFORD, N.J. - An early goal from Tessa Dunster (Stamford, Conn.) kickstarted the Eagles as they snapped a three game losing streak, defeating Felician, 2-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup in Rutherford, N.J.

The win puts Post at 6-9 overall for the season and 4-7 in the CACC. A win over Concordia on October 30th and a loss by Chesnut Hill and two losses by Philadelphia would give the Eagles the final playoff spot.

The Eagles jumped on the board early as Dunster took a pass from Danielle Charette (Naugatuck, Conn.), and from ten yards out, put a shot past goalkeeper Julia Sheridan on the lower left side for her CACC leading ninth goal.

The game would remain scoreless for the rest of the half before the Eagles struck again, as Valerie Moore (Bloomfield, Conn.) took a through ball from Dunster on the right side, and put it past Sheridan to make it 2-0 in the 65th minute.

The Eagles held steady on the defensive end up until the 82nd minute as Felician's Macki Groves, with help from JoJo Pisani and Erica Evans, snuck a shot into the inside right post past goalkeeper Grace McConnell (Leeds, England), to make it a 2-1 game.

McConnell was stellar in net in her return from an injury sustained in the October 23rd match against Nyack, as she finished with nine saves on the day. Felician (4-8-5, 3-4-5 CACC) outshot Post on the day, 23-7.

Up next for Post is its final regular season game of the season when it visits Concordia (0-10-0, 0-10-0 CACC) on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
