Box Score

WATERBURY, Conn. – The No. 6 Post University men's soccer team clinched its third-consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Regular Season Championship on Tuesday afternoon with a 4-0 victory over Bloomfield at LaMoy Field. The Eagles are unbeaten in their last 12 matches.

"It's very difficult to win the regular season, especially when you are picked to win, said head coach Ted Haley. "Being able to do it three years in a row is incredible and it really puts our program on the map."

Senior Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.) put Post (13-1-1, 10-1-1 CACC) ahead early with a score in the 8th minute off a cross to the right side by junior Terrell Whitting (Naugatuck, Conn.). The Eagles added another in the period as senior Krzysztof Giezek (Southington, Conn.) scored the first goal of his career off a corner kick by senior Jon Dzurilla (Torrington, Conn.).

Post didn't waste any time to score in the second half as junior Jose Monterroza (Los Angeles, Calif.) found sophomore Francisco Sastre (Sao Paolo, Brazil) on a long pass from midfield. Sastre booted it to the left side of the goal away from the charging Deacons' goalkeeper Arthur Clapot for the score just 10 seconds into the period.

Senior Grant Neuendorf (Norwich, Conn.) scored his first-career goal on a penalty kick in the 80th minute for the final tally. Senior Andre Lindsay (Clarendon, Jamaica) made seven saves and recorded his tenth shutout victory of the season.

"We built a lot of confidence with our incredible win last week and that translated into a great week of training and a great game today," added Haley. "It was nice to see some of the guys get their first collegiate goals."

Post closes out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 1 at Nyack. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
