WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's volleyball team picked up a thrilling 3-2 victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Dominican Friday night at the Drubner Center. The set scores were 18-25, 25-22, 24-26, 25-22, 15-12. Freshman
Kerrin Kallmann (Lake Grove, N.Y.) led the Eagles with 14 kills, six digs and a service ace.

Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) had 35 assists, 12 digs, five kills and four service aces for Post. Senior
Emily Wilman (Perth Amboy, N.J.) and freshman
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) each posted a double-double, combining for 21 kills and 31 digs.
Post got off to a hot start in the opening set and took an early 8-2 lead. Dominican then used a 9-2 run to take the lead 11-10 behind three Kera Dexter aces. After the Chargers took an 18-13 lead, the Eagles scored three straight points to come within just two. Dominican controlled the remainder of the set and took a 25-18 set win.
The second set was a back and forth battle consisting of numerous runs by both squads. After consecutive service aces by Slyaktina, Post jumped out to a 4-1 lead. Dominican scored the next five points and would go on to extend the lead to 10-8, forcing a Post timeout. After an ace by Griffin, Post regained the lead at 11-10, but Dominican scored the next five points, forcing another timeout by Post. Using an 11-7 run, the Eagles tied it up at 22 apiece before scoring the final three points of the set.
The two teams were neck and neck in the third set until the very end. Trailing 16-13, the Eagles scored four points in a row behind two Kallmann kills to take a 17-16 lead. After an ace by freshman
Nicole Brown (Queens, N.Y.), Post had a chance to put the set away up 24-23, however, Dominican scored the next three points to win the set.
Post took the lead 4-1 early in the fourth set before Dominican scored six straight points to gain the lead, 7-4. Down 10-8, Post scored four points in a row to regain a two point lead. The Chargers would regain the lead at 20-19, but the Eagles used a 6-2 run to win the set.
Dominican jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the final set, but Post fought back with five straight points to regain the lead. After the Eagles extended the lead to three at 7-4, the Chargers used a 7-2 run to jump out in front 11-9. Post then scored five points in a row to make it match point at 14-11, and the Eagles closed it out with a 15-12 fifth-set win.
Brown added nine kills, six block assists and three service aces for the Eagles. Post took over third place from the Chargers in the CACC North standings with the win.
McKenzie John and Tori Dexter combined for 29 kills for Dominican. The Chargers (4-15) fell to the Eagles for the second time this season and are now 4-5 in the CACC.
Post (4-12, 4-4 CACC) welcomes USciences to the Drubner Center on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m.
