CALDWELL, N.J. – The Post University women's basketball team fell at Caldwell on Saturday afternoon, 71-61. The Eagles drop to 8-8 overall and 7-3 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play. Junior
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) led all players with 23 points.

Fernanda Mansilla (Ancud, Chile) grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds to go along with five points and eight assists. Freshman
Hailey Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) scored 11 points off the bench. Latham also grabbed seven boards.
Caldwell staged a 10-0 run early in the first half to take a 20-9 advantage at the 13:43 mark. Post answered back with a 12-4 stretch of its own to narrow the gap to 24-21 with 7:49 left in the period. Griffin and junior Raven-Wright James (Middletown, Conn.) each hit a shot from distance and scored five points during the run.
Latham nailed a jumper in the lane off a dish from Wright-James to bring the Eagles within two at 30-28 with 1:16 remaining. Post trailed 33-30 at the intermission.
Mansilla found Latham behind the arc on the Eagles second possession of the final period to knot the game at 35-35 with 19:25 left. Post took its first lead of the afternoon minutes later as Mansilla hit a jumper to make it 39-38. Latham drove the paint for a layup in transition as the Eagles extended their advantage to 41-38 at the 15:50 mark.
The teams traded baskets throughout the second half, but four straight points by Gillian Felix put the Cougars ahead 61-53 with 4:37 remaining. Three-pointers by Griffin and Latham brought the Eagles within five points twice over the final 2:27, but Post couldn't manage to get closer.
The Eagles held a slight advantage on the glass at 42-38. Caldwell outscored Post 16-4 at the free-throw line and 24-18 off of turnovers. This marks just the second time all season Post has failed to win a game in which it made seven or more three-pointers.
Latham now stands at 992 career points and just eight away from joining the 1,000-point club.
Post closes out its short road trip on Tuesday, Jan. 15 against Concordia. The Eagles defeated the Clippers 70-59 in their CACC home opener on Nov. 20. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
