NAUGATUCK, Conn. – The Post University men's and women's cross country teams both finished first in their meet against Bridgeport Wednesday afternoon at Hop Brook State Park in Naugatuck, Conn. The men won 26-29 and the women 22-33. The Eagles took the top three positions in the women's race.
Senior
Brianna Docimo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished first for the women at 21:44. Sophomore
Jesse Perez (Waterbury, Conn.) clocked a time of 17:59.63 for the men, finishing second and only .44 behind the winner.
Reigning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Week, freshman
Justin Fluker (Meriden, Conn.) was fourth at a time of 18:24. Freshman
Rob Gaertner (Wantagh, N.Y.) was right behind him in fifth at 19:07.
Junior
Veronica Blekis (Plymouth, Conn.) was second for the women at 21:53. Freshman
Jessica Lavelle (Thurmont, Md.) clocked a time of 23:51, good for third place.
Bridgeport's Adam Glantz won the men's race with a time of 17:59.19.
The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Jack Saint Claire Memorial Invitational at Fairmount Park in Belmont Plateau, Pa. The race kicks off at noon.
