WATERBURY, Conn. – Behind the strength of a season-high five goals, including a hat trick by sophomore
Tessa Dunster (Stamford, Conn.), the Post University women's soccer team earned a 5-2 win over NYIT. The victory marked the first of the season for the Eagles and snapped a six-game losing streak.

Renel Dennis (Queens, N.Y.) matched a career-high with two goals and added an assist for a five-point contest. Classmate

Sabrina Sinopoli (Naugautck, Conn.) contributed assists for the Eagles.
Dunster and Dennis got Post (1-6) out to a 2-0 lead by halftime. Dunster opened the scoring in the 17
th minute off a feed from Verilli. Dennis gave Post the two-goal lead on a tally that came with one second remaining on the clock in the opening period.
The lead grew to 3-0 at the 47:58 mark when Dunster found the back of the net for the second time in the game. After NYIT (2-5) cut the deficit to 3-2, Dennis scored her second goal of the match at the 77:14 mark. Dennis stole the ball from the keeper and finished from close range to grow the lead to 4-2.
Dunster completed the hat trick in the 84
th minute off a pass from Sinopoli. The pass came from over the head of Sinopoli, who found the feet of Dunster. Dunster finished the play from 10 yards.
Junior
Grace McConnell (Leeds, England) made six saves in the win for Post.
The Eagles will continue a three-match homestand on Saturday, Sept. 22, when they host Wilmington in a CACC contest. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at LaMoy Field.
