Eagles In Second After First Round Of Northeast Intercollegiate

Rees and Forgione Both Sit In Top Five Through 18 Holes

BERLIN, Conn. – The Post University golf team sits in second place out of 10 teams after 18 holes at the Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Timberlin Country Club in Berlin, Conn. Senior Thomas Rees (Cardiff, Wales) is tied for first after shooting a one-over 73 on Sunday.
 
Freshman Michele Forgione (Lincolnshire, England) carded a 75 and is alone in fifth place. Sophomore Anthony McNamara (Beacon Falls, Conn.) is tied for 19th after an opening-round 80.
 
Freshman Daniel Bradbury (Liverpool, England) shot an 82 and is tied for 31st through 18 holes. Freshman Patrick Hartnett (Chicago, Ill.) is tied for 36th with an 83 in the first round.
 
Sylvain Debiais and Harry Hulme both of UMass-Lowell are tied with Rees atop the leaderboard at 73.
 
The Eagles had a team score of 310 and sit six shots behind the leader, UMass-Lowell, who carded an opening-round 306.
 
Round two tees off tomorrow morning beginning at 8 a.m.
