GOLDSBORO, N.C. – The Eagles golf team posted a strong showing in the final round of the Century Link Intercollegiate at Lane Tree Country Club in Goldsboro, N.C. on Tuesday. Senior
Thomas Rees (Cardiff, Wales) finished tied for sixth out of 53 golfers in the individual tournament with a four-over 148 (73-75), and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Junior
Ross Earnshaw (York, England) improved his first round score by one shot with a 75 in the final round and finished tied for 12
th at 151 (76-75). Freshman Dan Bradbury (Liverpool, England) carded a 153 (74-79) in his first-career tournament to end in a tie for 15
th.
Freshman Michael Fiogione (Lincolnshire, England) shot two strokes better on Tuesday and finished at 156 (79-77) and tied for 28
th. Sophomore
Jay Gerrick (London, England) shot a 159 (77-82), good for a tie for 35
th.
Barton's Daniel Claytor won the tournament with a six-under 138 (69-69).
The Eagles host the Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Timberlin Country Club in Berlin, Conn beginning on Saturday, Sept. 15.
