WATERBURY, Conn. – For the second time this season, the Post University men's basketball team will take on the Concordia Clippers in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. The Eagles have their sights set on a season sweep, as Post capped a four-game road trip with a 77-60 win in Bronxville on Jan. 24.

Powered by a balanced scoring attack and four players with at least 12 points, the Eagles were led by senior
James Lee (Montclair, N.J.) who tallied a game-high 18 points at the Meyer Athletic Center. The win helped Post to a 3-1 record on a four-game road trip.
Lee shot 9-for-13 from the field and grabbed six rebounds and two steals. Junior
Saurnas Jackson (Corona, Calif.) and senior
Josh Lopez (Anchorage, Alaska) scored 15 points apiece, while junior
Jake Wilcox (Kent, Wash.) notched 12 points and eight assists.
For Concordia, Argelix Gil finished with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Pope added 12 points for the host Clippers.
SERIES HISTORY:
Since the 2006-07 season, Post has maintained a 4-3 record against the Clippers. The Eagles won the first meeting between the two teams this season, a 77-60 decision at Concordia on Jan. 24. Prior to Concordia's sweep of last season's meetings, the Eagles won three straight against the Clippers during the 2010 calendar year. Post notched a 75-66 triumph over Concordia on Feb. 9, 2010, at the Drubner Center.

Leon Porter of Dominican finished the contest with a game-high 40 points on 15-for-29 shooting. He went 8-for-12 from beyond the arc. The Post men's basketball team dropped its second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) decision. The Eagles fell 64-47 to the Dominican Chargers on the road. Senior
Josh Lopez (Anchorage, Alaska) led Post with 11 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field.
A RARE FEAT ACCOMPLISHED AT POST:
In the Jan. 21, loss at Holy Family,
Jake Wilcox recorded 13 assists and no turnovers. His assist total is tied for sixth in a single game in Division II this season. Wilcox became one of three players in Division II this season with 13 assists and no turnovers. The others were Josh Magette of Alabama-Huntsville and Cameron Joyce of Northwood (Mich.).
TIGHT GAMES ARE TELLING:
In games decided by three points or less this season, Post boasts a 4-1 record. The Eagles have earned one-point victories over Bridgeport (Dec. 19 - 79-78), Queens (Jan. 2 - 71-70) and Nyack (Jan. 12), while a three-point margin decided the contest at Felician (Jan. 18). The lone loss came against Dominican in double overtime (Jan. 5 - 74-73).
SCOUTING THE CLIPPERS:
Concordia wraps up a stretch of three games in four days in Waterbury on Tuesday night. The Clippers dropped a 15-point decision, 85-70 at Philadelphia on Saturday and will travel to Wilmington on Monday night for a 7 p.m. start. Statistically, Argelix Gil leads the conference in scoring with a mark of 18.8 points per game and sits third in rebounds per game. He grabs 10.9 caroms per contest. Gil is seventh in Division II in rebounds per game. Brandon Whitaker and Norman Pope average 15.4 and 13.4 points per game respectively. Concordia sits in second place in the CACC North Division with its 7-6 conference record.
ON THE HORIZON:
After the matchup with Concordia, the first of three games this week, Post will return to the hardwood on Thursday, Feb. 9, at Caldwell. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
