The Post University women's basketball team The Post University women's basketball team has a tough task if it wants to end its two-game slide. The Eagles welcome the New York Institute of Technology from the East Coast Conference (ECC) to the Drubner Center on Sunday, Dec. 28. NYIT comes into Sunday's contest with a 9-0 record overall and 2-0 in ECC play.

The Eagles lost their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game of the season and snapped a nine-game conference win streak as they fell to Felician on Dec. 19. Post had four players in double-digits on the night, led by junior
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) with 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting. Graduate student
Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) filled the stat sheet with 12 points, 13 boards, five assists, and five steals.
Down 58-48 with 9:38 remaining in the game, the Eagles staged a 16-5 run capped off by a layup from Latham to take a 64-63 advantage, their first since the 13:13 mark of the first. Felician gained the lead back on its next possession and led 68-66 with 11 seconds left. Out of a timeout, junior
Fernanda Mansilla (Ancud, Chile) drove to the baseline and put up a runner that was blocked by Sierra McDuffy. She grabbed her own rebound but could not get another shot off before time expired.

The all-time series between Post and NYIT is tied 2-2. Each team is 2-0 at home against the other. The Eagles fell at NYIT in the last meeting in 2010.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
NYIT has outscored its opponents by an average of 22.3 points per game in its nine wins this season, good for eighth in NCAA Division II. The Bears lead the country in assists at 21.0 per game and are third in steals per game (16.7) and eighth in turnover margin (8.67). Six of their wins have come against CACC opponents, most recently a 75-48 victory over Chestnut Hill on Dec. 15. NYIT is led by guard Nikki Jo Rotolo who averages 13.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game, all team-highs. Her assists per game average is the eighth-best in the nation. She was named ECC Player of the Week on Dec. 17.

Post averages 7.3 three-pointers made per game to lead the CACC and is third with a 31.5 shooting percentage from deep. The Eagles are second in the league, turning the ball over just 16.8 times per contest.
Fernanda Mansilla leads the conference with 6.3 assists per game.
Jessica Webber is second in the CACC in shooting percentage behind the arc at 41.0%.
Aubrey Latham is sixth in scoring at 16.4 points per game.
LIVE BY THE THREE
The Eagles have been knocking down shots from behind the arc all season. In all six victories this season, Post has taken over 20 shots from distance and made at least seven. The Eagles are the top three-point shooting team in the conference at 7.3 made per game. Against Molloy, they made a season-high 11 from distance.
DISHING OUT THE ASSISTS

Fernanda Mansilla has been putting her teammates in position to score all season. She has 69 total assists on the season and leads the CACC and is eighth in the nation with 6.3 assists per contest. Against Chestnut Hill on Dec. 8, Mansilla dished out 11 assists, the highest total by an Eagle since the 2004-05 season.
COUNTDOWN TO 1,000 POINTS
Aubrey Latham comes into the week with 910 career points and is just 90 points away from joining the 1,000-point club. Latham scored seven points in her only career game against NYIT.
LONGEST IN PROGRAM HISTORY
The Eagles posted their longest conference winning streak in program history as they won nine straight CACC games from Feb. 11-Dec. 19, 2012. Post closed out the 2011-12 season with four consecutive conference wins. The Eagles began 2012-13 with their best-ever CACC start with five straight victories. Post defeated Chestnut Hill, Wilmington, and Nyack twice during the streak. Felician ended the stretch with a 68-66 win over Post on Dec. 19.
PRESEASON PROGNOSTICATIONS
Post was selected to finish fifth in the North Division of the CACC in the preseason poll announced on Nov. 12. The Eagles received 35 total points in the poll. Caldwell garnered 89 points and 11 first place votes and was selected as the North Division favorite. Defending conference champion, Holy Family, earned 95 points and 11 first place votes and was tabbed as the South Division favorite.

Aubrey Latham captains for the 2012-13 season. Brooks is one of the Eagles' top shooters. She led the team and was second in the conference with a 38.9 shooting percentage from behind the arc. Chance was 13th in NCAA Division II with 11.3 rebounds per game and named CACC Honorable Mention in 2011-12. Latham led the Eagles in scoring in 2011-12, averaging 15.5 points per game. She comes into the season just 238 points away from 1,000 for her career.
