The Post University women's basketball team looks for its first 3-0 start in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play in program history as it hosts Wilmington on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. The Eagles are led by juniors
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) and
Fernanda Mansilla (Ancud, Chile) with 16.2 points and 4.8 assists per game, respectively.
Wilmington (0-7, 0-2 CACC) comes into the contest still searching for its first win on the young season. The Wildcats fell at USciences their last time out 81-63. They are led by freshman guard Tenicia Spence who is averaging 19.1 points per game, good for second in the CACC. Wilmington is second in the conference in free throw percentage at 70.7 percent.

The Eagles cut a 12-point halftime deficit to as little as two with 18 seconds to play, but they dropped a 66-62 decision to in-state rival Bridgeport.
Fernanda Mansilla turned in a team-high 16 points, and senior
Casey Brooks (Highland, N.Y.) and
Aubrey Latham chipped in 10 points apiece.
The Eagles pulled to within two points, 64-62, with 18 seconds to play in regulation after Latham hit a pair of free throws. The pair of foul shots capped a 6-1 run over a span of 1:10. However, Vanessa Schindler hit two free throws with 16 seconds remaining to secure the victory for Bridgeport. For the game, Bridgeport shot 41 percent from the field, but Post held the Purple Knights to just 1-for-8 from beyond the arc.

Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) captains for the 2012-13 season. Brooks is one of the Eagles' top shooters. She led the team and was second in the conference with a 38.9 shooting percentage from behind the arc. Chance was 13th in NCAA Division II with 11.3 rebounds per game and named CACC Honorable Mention in 2011-12. Latham led the Eagles in scoring in 2011-12, averaging 15.5 points per game. She comes into the season just 238 points away from 1,000 for her career.
