In the contest, junior
Jerry Cummings (Queens, N.Y.) notched his first career double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Since the one-point triumph over Queens, Post has won its last three contests by an average of 18.7 points per game, including a 38-point win over Nyack in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener.

Jerry Cummings and
Stephen Perry, the Post University men's basketball team earned a 87-70 victory over Concordia in CACC action at the Drubner Center Tuesday night. The win gives the Eagles their first 2-0 start in conference play since 2007-08 and marked the fourth straight victory, the longest win streak since an eight-game stretch in during the 2010-11 campaign.
Perry shot 6-for-11 from the field and went 6-for-9 from long distance in the contest. He also went 4-for-4 at the foul line. Cummings shot 8-for-16 from the floor and went 5-for-6 from the charity stripe. Senior
Jake Wilcox notched 11 assists against just one turnover. As a team, Post totaled eight blocks, led by three from senior
Sarunas Jackson.
Finding His Shot:
After he scored just 22 points in his first three games, Stephen Perry has exploded for 43 points over his last two games. During the stretch, he is shooting 11-for-17 (64.7 percent) from three-point range. Against LIU Post he went 5-for-8 from distance en route to a game-high 21 points. He made six triples in the home opener against Concordia as he shared the team lead in points with 22. For the season he is 13-for-25 from distance.
First Career Double-Double:
Cummings tallied his first career double-double in Post's 79-78 overtime victory behind 23 points and 10 rebounds. In his first two contests this season, he pulled down 10 boards in each game. For his efforts last week, Cummings was given a CACC Honorable Mention.
All-Time Series With Queens:
Since it transitioned to a full-standing NCAA Division II member, Post is 3-0 against Queens College. Saturday's meeting will mark the first time the squads meet outside of a tournament.

Scouting the Knights:
Queens is still in search of its first victory in the 2012 season. The Knights enter Saturday with a record of 0-4 and averages 62.0 points per game. The team will play the first 12 games of the season away from home and is currently 0-2 against members of the CACC this season. Queens dropped a one-point decision to Post on Nov. 10, and was on the short side of an 86-67 defeat at Felician. Individually, Khalil McDonald leads Queens with 17.3 points per game and Jeremiah Mordi pours in 12.4 points per game. McDonald leads the Knights on the glass with 7.6 rebounds per game.

Jerry Cummings, the Post University men's basketball team earned a 79-78 overtime victory against Queens on Saturday afternoon to complete play at the Molloy Tip-Off Tournament. In the win Cummings compiled 23 points and 10 rebounds to pace four Eagles in double figures.
Cummings was joined in double figures by senior
Jake Wilcox and junior
Effrin Ellison who scored 13 points apiece. Junior
Devin Willis added 10 points. In addition to his 13 points, Wilcox added four assists, three steals and senior
Sarunas Jackson pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and four blocks.
With five seconds remaining in the overtime period, Wilcox drew a foul to earn a trip to the foul line. He split the pair of free throws to give Post a 79-78 lead. On the ensuing Queens possession, Cummings stole the ball with one second on the clock to ensure the victory for the Eagles.
Sharp Shooter:
Last season,
Zach Krischer led the CACC in three-point field goal percentage with a mark of 48.2. In fact his percentage from distance was better than his overall field goal percentage (47.7). Nationally, Krischer sat 82
nd in three-point field goals made per game with an average of 2.39.
Internationally Known:
Post men's basketball head coach
Al Sokaitis was named the Tanzania national head coach of the men's and women's basketball programs on Aug. 29. The goal is for the country to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
Preseason Prognostications:
The Eagles were tabbed to finish third in the North Division of the CACC Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Monday, Nov. 12. Post totaled 59 points and one first place vote from the league's 13 head coaches. Sokaitis' team was picked behind Bloomfield and Dominican in the North Division.
On The Horizon:
The Eagles will take to the road and travel to in-state rival Bridgeport on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Game time is set for 7 p.m. The Purple Knights stand at 2-3 and will be at Philadelphia University on Saturday afternoon.
