Golf Finishes Ninth In Final Tournament Of The Fall

Thomas Rees Records His Third Top-10 Finish Of The Season

ELLINGTON, Conn. – Senior Thomas Rees (Cardiff, Wales) capped off an impressive fall season with his third top-10 finish of the year at the Connecticut Cup at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Conn on Tuesday. The Post University golf team finished the tournament in ninth place out of 15 schools with a team score of 903 (306-298-299).
 
Rees carded a two-over 218 (73-72-73) over 54-holes to end in a tie for eighth place out of 84 golfers. Freshman Michele Forgione (Lincolnshire, England) shot a 75 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 25th at 224 (76-73-75).
 
Junior Ross Earnshaw posted his best score of the tournament in the final round with a 75. He carded a 231 (78-78-75) and was tied for 56th. Freshman Daniel Bradbury (Liverpool, England) finished tied for 63rd at 233 (79-75-79). Freshman Patrick Hartnett (Chicago, Ill.) shot his best round, 76, on Tuesday and ended in 82nd.
 
The University of Connecticut's Zack Zaback shot a 69 for the second consecutive day to take the individual championship at 211 (73-69-69). The University of Hartford finished first with a team score of 882 (300-291-291).
 
Rees's finished sixth at the CenturyLink Intercollegiate on Sept. 11 and won the Northeast Intercollegiate on Sept. 17 for his other top-10 finishes.
 
The Eagles will be back in action in the spring. The schedule has yet to be announced.
