Eagles Tied For Ninth Through 36-Holes At Connecticut Cup

ELLINGTON, Conn. – The Post University golf team is tied for ninth out of 15 schools after the first two rounds of the Connecticut Cup at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Conn on Monday, The tournament features 11 NCAA Division I institutions. The Eagles shot a 306 in round one and 298 in round two for a total of 604.
 
Senior Thomas Rees (Cardiff, Wales) carded the low-round for Post in the first round with a one-over 73. He followed that up with a 72 in the second and sits tied for sixth out of 84 golfers. Freshman Michele Forgione (Lincolnshire, England) is tied for 20th after a 76 in round one and a 73 in round two.
 
Freshman Dan Bradbury (Liverpool, England) carded a 154 (79-75) and is tied for 55th. Junior Ross Earnshaw (York, England) shot a 78 in both rounds and sits in a tie for 67th. Freshman Patrick Hartnett (Chicago, Ill.) is alone in 83rd after an 84 in each round.
 
Iona's Dylan Newman shot a 141 (69-72) and sits in first place overall. Division I, Hartford, has the team lead at 591. Post is the top Division II team and is currently ahead of two Division I schools.
 
The Eagles will wrap-up their fall season with the final round tomorrow.
