Post Earns First Clean Sheet Of Season In 2-0 Win At Bloomfield

NEWARK, N.J. – The Post University women's soccer team earned its first shutout of the season after it picked up a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory at Bloomfield on Wednesday afternoon. The clean sheet marked the first of the season for junior goalkeeper Grace McConnell (Leeds, England). She made two saves in the match.
 
As a team, the Eagles won consecutive contests for the first time this season. Additionally, the triumph marked the third in four matches for Post (3-7, 2-5 CACC).
 
Senior Sara Cramer (Lake Hiawatha, N.J.) gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute of the match. She took a pass from sophomore Tessa Dunster (Stamford, Conn.) that was played beyond the defense from the left side of the field. Cramer netted her first marker of the season. Post held a 1-0 advantage at the intermission.
 
In the second half, junior Renel Dennis (Queens, N.Y.) added an insurance goal in at the 68:13 mark. Dunster was credited with the helper on Dennis' team-leading 10th tally of the season.
 
For the match, the Eagles held a 12-8 advantage in shots and an 8-2 edge in shots on goal. Individually, Sashagay Spence made six saves for Bloomfield (2-6, 1-5 CACC) in the loss.
 
Post will look to win its third straight match on Saturday, Oct. 6, when it takes on Goldey-Beacom in a conference tilt. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at LaMoy Field.
