Women’s Soccer Falls To Felician On Senior Day 3-2

Senior Sabrina Sinopoli Scores In Final Collegiate Match

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's soccer team erased a 2-0 halftime deficit, but could not grab the lead as it dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to Felician in the 2012 season finale on Tuesday afternoon. The final score was 3-2. Despite the loss, senior Sabrina Sinopoli (Watertown, Conn.) scored for the Eagles in her final collegiate match.
 
After Post gave up a pair of goals in the opening stanza, the squad fought back to level the score at 2-2 with a pair of tallies that came 1:52 apart. Sinopoli converted a penalty kick in the 59th minute. Junior Brina Yanez (West Haven, Conn.) tied the score at the 60:30 mark when she punched in a loose ball from two yards out.
 
Felician (7-8-1, 5-6-1 CACC) took the lead for good in the 73rd minute after Alysia Arcona scored on a penalty kick.
 
In the match, the Golden Falcons outshot the Eagles 17-12, but Post held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Eagles conclude the 2012 season with a record of 4-12 overall and 3-9 in the CACC.
