BELMONT PLATEAU, Pa. – The Post University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships on Sunday at Fairmount Park in Belmont Plateau, Pa. The men finished ninth out of 10 teams, while the women were eighth out of 14.
Freshman
Rob Gaertner (Wantagh, N.Y.) was the Eagles top men's finisher. Gaertner clocked a time of 30:57 on the 8K course and was 32
nd out of 66 competitors. Senior
Brianna Docimo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) ran the 5K women's course in 21:37. She placed 18
th overall out of 85 runners.
Sophomore
Jesse Perez (Waterbury, Conn.) clocked a time of 31:01 and finished in 33
rd. Freshman
Justin Fluker (Meriden, Conn.) placed 45
th with a time of 32:16. Junior
Wesley Sanival (Norwalk, Conn.) ran the course in 33:26 and placed 47
th.
Junior
Veronica Blekis (Plymouth, Conn.) placed 24
th with a time of 22:02. Freshman
Amber Reed (Bristol, Conn.) clocked a time of 23:49 to finish 50
th. Freshman
Jessica Lavelle (Thurmont, Md.) was 55
th, running the course in 24:04.
Rob Albano of Felician was the top overall men's finisher with a time of 26:23. Wilmington's Althea Davidson took the women's race at 19:00. Wilmington and Philadelphia were the first place men's and women's teams, respectively.
The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 4 in the NCAA Division II East Regional at Mine Falls Park in Nashua, N.H. The race begins at noon.
