Three Second Half Markers Carry Post Past Chestnut Hill, 3-0

Baccielo, Morais, Moura Tally Goals; Kevin Ipina Tallies Two Assists

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – Powered by three second half goals and two assists by junior Kevin Ipina (Danbury, Conn.), the Post University men's soccer team earned a 3-0 victory at Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Andre Lindsay (Clarendon, Jamaica) earned his second shutout of the season, and he earned his team-best fifth win of the season.
 
Junior Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.) netted his 12th marker of the season and freshman Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) scored for the fifth time this year. Senior Eltany Morais (Cape Verde Islands) found the back of the net for the second time this season. Baccielo and Moura rank first and second on the Eagles in goals.
 
After the teams played a scoreless first stanza, Moura opened the scoring for Post (9-2-3, 6-0-3 CACC) in the 48th minute. Moura redirected a centering feed from Ipina that went past Chestnut Hill goalkeeper Michael Goldstein. Baccielo increased the Eagles lead to 2-0 less than 10 minutes later. At the 57:05 mark, Baccielo blasted a shot from the top of the box into the right corner of the goal. Ipina fed Baccielo for the shot.
 
Morais added an insurance goal in the 87th minute when he scored off his own rebound.
 
For the match, Post held a 21-15 advantage in shots and a 12-3 margin in shots on goal. The Eagles attempted six corner kicks, while the Griffins were awarded only two.
 
The win marked Post's fourth in a row and is unbeaten in its last five outings (4-0-1).
 
Post will return to the pitch at Dowling on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. The Eagles are currently on a four-match road trip.
