WATERBURY, Conn (September 15, 2011) Post University's golf team will host the fourth annual Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Tournament Sunday and Monday September 18 and 19. A practice round will be held on Saturday September 18.

“We want to win this tournament because we have not won it since its inception as the tournament host,” said Pete Stevens, Eagles Head Coach. “This is one of the best Division II tournaments in the northeast featuring Adams Golf and Cleveland Golf as product sponsors. On the course, we need to go out and put two solid rounds together and hit our target score of 295 both rounds.”

Last season the Eagles placed third overall. Among the returners Ross Earnshaw led the way with an 8th place effort. He was followed by Thomas Rees in 13th and senior captain Marchant de Villiers in 33rd. Last year's tournament was held at the Tunxis Plantation Golf Course in Farmington.

A total of 15 teams will take to the 6,750 yard Timberland Country Club Course in Berlin, CT for this year's competition. Among the teams competing include defending tournament champion Wilmington University who is currently ranked 82nd in the nation according to Golfstatrankings. The Eagles are ranked 96th while American International is 115th in the nation.

Competition will begin on Sunday September 18 with tee times listed below.
