WATERBURY, Conn (February 26, 2011) Post University's women's basketball took on the University of Sciences on Saturday afternoon in the Drubner Center, falling 75-65 in a hard fought loss on senior day.

Monique Chance led scoring for Post University with 16 points and seven rebounds. Kelli Reynolds and Casey Brooks both added 12. USciences was led by Alyssa Hamm with 25 points, six rebounds.

In the first half, the Devils went on a 6-0 run to open the game, but the Eagles responded when senior Mallorie Michalak made a three point play to stop the run.

The Devil lead got as high as 8 however, with just over 12 minutes to play in the half, Monique Chance connected on a jumper that cut the lead back down to two.

From that point on the Devil lead in the first half lingered between 10-13 points. Chance would again find her way to the bucket to cut the lead to 8 in the closing minutes of the half, but by the break the USciences lead was 35-24.

In the second half, the Devil lead remained about the same until the six minute mark when the Eagles made it clear that they would battle the entire 40 minute length of the game. Reynolds would ignite the spark with heroics on the offensive side of the ball.

Reynolds took advantage of the fact that 6-0 Marissa Chesnavich was on the bench with four fouls leaving a gaping hole in the USciences defense. Liz Johnson grabbed an offensive rebound dishing to Reynolds who made a driving layup with the foul. After completing the three point play it was 62-54 and the crowd began the defense chant.

After a Devil three ball, Casey brooks drove to the bucket making it 65-56. On the other end of the floor Reynolds forced Caitlyn Shaw, USciences scoring leader to commit her fourth foul of the game. Shaw had 22 points 6 rebounds on the day.

As time wore off the clock, it was Brooks again this time with a three from the corner making it 73-63, followed by a Mallorie Michalak layup, which ended up being the final bucket in her 980 point career.

The game would end with a 75-65 final as the Eagles wrapped up another season ending with an improved 8-18 (6-13 CACC) records, winning four more conference games than a year ago.
