WATERBURY, Conn. (February 17, 2011)—Kelli Reynolds scored 16 points and the Post University women's basketball team defeated Dominican, 63-58, Thursday at the Drubner Center.
With the Eagles leading by three with just seconds to play, Dominican's Lindsey Lopez missed a deep three, and Reynolds corralled the rebound with 1.8 seconds to go.
She connected on two free throw attempts to put the game away.
Casey Brooks was key for the Eagles in the first half, knocking down three of five three-point attempts. She also grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Eagles (8-15, 6-10 CACC) were also led by Monique Chance, who scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Eagles were red-hot in the first half, shooting 42 percent from the field, compared to just 26 percent for Dominican. Post University took a 37-25 lead into the break.
Lindsey Lopez led the Chargers (8-15, 6-10 CACC) with 20 points. Megan Murphy added 13 for Dominican.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia University.
