Dominican Tops Eagle Men’s Soccer 1-0

Box Score

DOMINICAN, NY (October 28, 2011) In the final regular season men's soccer game of the season, Dominican defeated Post University 1-0 in New York. Post will head into the playoffs with a 9-3-4 (8-2-2) record.

“It is a difficult pill to swallow as we played well at times and could have won the game,” said Ted Haley, Eagles Head Coach. “We missed a one v one goal early in the game and that certainly would have changed the game. We didn't fight for all 90 minutes and the few lapses we had turned out to be the difference.”

Jay Benton got the start in goal for the Eagles making six saves on the day.

Dominican's only goal came 11:30 into the second half when Jorge Illaga scored assisted by Artan Balaj and John
Langdon.

The Chargers took 16 shots to the Eagles 11.

The Eagles will host the first round of the CACC tournament on Monday at 2pm on LaMoy Field. Post enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed for the first time in program history and will face No. 8 Caldwell. Post is undefeated at home this season.
