Box Score

WATERBURY, Conn (October 13, 2011) The Post University men's soccer team defeated Concordia Thursday afternoon 5-3. The victory puts the Eagles at 7-2-4 (6-1-1) on the season and alone atop the CACC standings.

Korab Muaremi gave the Eagles the early lead as he found the back of the net off a free kick 15 minutes in. Later in the first half, Muaremi had a corner kick that was put home by Ani Lekaj.

Francis Eno also had a goal off a Taylor Withrow assist, to put Post ahead 3-0, heading into the break. It could have been more, as the Eagles had two potential goals in the half erased due to offsides.

Concordia added two quick goals to start the second half. Daniel Espinosa scored off a Michael Barbetto assist. Richard Heredia found Jorge Brohoquis to draw the score to 3-2 with a little over 25 minutes left.

The Eagles ended any chance of a comeback when Byron Garcia found Joe Baccielo to extend the lead to 4-2. Withrow added a goal with 8 minutes left to put the game away. Ekene Okereke scored the final goal a few minutes later to make the score 5-3.

Jay Benton played well in goal in his first start with three saves in the victory.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday at home against Philadelphia.
