WATERBURY, Conn. (January 27, 2011)--They almost had it. The Post University women's basketball team put up an incredibly valiant effort on the road, but came up just short against Caldwell College, falling, 65-61.
Kelli Reynolds scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to lead the Eagles (6-11, 4-6 CACC), who hung around all game long but just couldn't break through.
Eagles guard
Jessica Webber hit three huge shots, including two three-pointers, in the final two minutes, all of which drew Post University to within one possession, but the Eagles couldn't come up with a critical stop when they needed one.
Webber finished with 10 points.
Jeanette Anderson led Caldwell (12-3, 8-1 CACC) with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Torey Jones had 19 points for the Cougars.
Post University held Caldwell to just 25 percent shooting in the first half, but were done in by 18 turnovers.
Monique Chance had another solid effort for the Eagles, scoring 9 points and ripping down 13 rebounds.
Casey Brooks had 8 points for the Eagles.
The Eagles return to the Drubner Center on Saturday to take on Georgian Court University. Tip time is set for 1 pm.
