Caldwell Defeats Post University Women's Basketball 70-54

WATERBURY, Conn (January 5, 2010) Post University's Women's Basketball team fell to Caldwell College 70-54. The loss drops the Eagles to 3-8 overall and 0-4 in the CACC. Caldwell improves to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in conference.
Junior guard Mallorie Michalak had 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 steals for the double double. Caldwell's Torey Jones netted a game high 20 points adding 11 rebounds.
In the first half, Caldwell jumped out to an 11-4 lead with 13:44 to play in the opening stanza. Poor shooting by the Eagles (34.5%) from the floor resulted in a 13 point Caldwell halftime lead, 36-23.
Post University continued to struggle from the floor in the second half, but so did Caldwell. With 7:45 to play in the contest, Caldwell established a 24 point advantage. The Eagles chipped away at the lead resulting in a 70-54 point final score.
Post University will be back in action again on Thursday night as they play Washington Adventist on the road.
