Dominican College Defeats Men's Basketball in Home Opener 75-58

WATERBURY, Conn. (December 8, 2009) The Dominican College Chargers defeated the Post University Eagles Men's Basketball team 75-58, Tuesday night at the Drubner Center. The Eagles now have a 2-3 record.

Freshman Trevon Hamlet and Nyheem Sanders scored 12 points for Post University. Marquis Grant pulled down 7 rebounds. 

Dominican had a 31-30 point advantage at halftime. Post University took a brief lead 1:14 into the second half, but the Chargers quickly recovered as Gerald Hill hit a 3 pointer. Dominican would not relinquish the lead taking a 75-58 victory. 

Dominican was led by Leon Porter with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Zach Huston scored 15 points and added 7 rebounds. 

The Eagles will be back in action again Thursday night at Felician.
